80,000 passenger ‘Cruise Ship’?
As cruise companies race to build the worlds largest cruise ships with Royal Caribbean holding the top spots with its Icon Class ships how do you feel about sharing a ship with 80,000 passengers?
At almost 1 mile long this Freedom Ship concept would sail around the world every two years. It would include all you would expect of a traditional cruise ship experience and lots you wouldn’t. Schools, residential homes and a hospital are on the list of ideas for this 80 deck high 30 billion pound floating city.
Legend on Trial
Royal Caribbeans soon to be newest cruise ship Legend of The Seas has started her 10 days of sea trials. Sailing from the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland where she has been being built since January 2024. With her Maiden voyage scheduled for July 2026 she will cruise the Mediterranean before heading to ort Lauderdale in November.

Royal Caribbean have announced two more mega ships have been ordered to add to their fleet of Icon class vessels. With Icon of The Seas launched in 2024 the two extra cruise ships will make 7 in total.
Legend of The Seas is due her maiden voyage this year followed by Hero of The Seas next year then the yet to be named Icon 5, 6 and 7 each year after.
